Temporary Educational Neighborhood Signs

The City’s Neighborhood Traffic Management Program allows the use of temporary, educational signs to remind motorists to drive at a prudent speed in neighborhoods.  Examples of these signs can be found at the following links:

These signs are not allowed to be placed in the public Right-of-Way. In most cases, if the signs are placed behind the sidewalk or if no sidewalk exists, a minimum of 10 feet from the edge of the curb or street, the signs will likely be on private property and not in the public Right-of-Way.  Private signs placed in the public Right-of-Way are considered a Code violation and can be removed by the Code Compliance Division.  Residents, neighborhoods, and/or homeowners’ associations are responsible for the costs associated with the use of these temporary signs.
